Where is the best place to hike in Slovakia?

We usually recommend hiking in the High Tatras and Slovak Paradise National Parks due to the variety of hikes and scenery of each national park. 

When is the best time to hike in Slovakia?

The best time to hike in Slovakia in our opinion is during Autumn (September and October). During this time the weather is more stable and still warm, and places are not as crowded as in the summer. Hiking in October could be a magical experience as you have the opportunity to see the leaves changing colour. 

Do people speak English in Slovakia?

There are not many people who speak English in small cities and villages in Eastern Slovakia, which are normally the places where there are beautiful historical and less commercial attractions. Therefore, having a specialised service like the one we offer is key to having a more comfortable and less stressful experience while travelling in Slovakia. 

Can I find a vegan or vegetarian restaurant in Slovakia? 

There are a lot of different types of restaurants in the big cities and in the most popular touristic destinations, such as the ski resorts. In Poprad, near where we are located, there are vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the city centre. In the shopping centres some international restaurants might offer a dish or two which are vegetarian. 

Where can I buy my cable car ticket to go Lomnicky Peak?

You can purchase your ticket to Lomnicky Peak with Experience Slovakia. We also offer special price for Acqua City Poprad (hot mineral water park with wellness and massage, indoor and outdoor swimming pools).  

Where can I buy my ski pass?

You can buy your ski pass with Experience Slovakia as well as your entrance tickets to the cable cars. 

How can I book transport to the airport? 

Experience Slovakia tours include airport pick up and drop off in Poprad and Kosice airports and train stations. You will also have a local and experience tour guide who speaks English and is willing to share with you as much information as possible about the culture and history of Slovakia during your transfer. 

What is the traditional dish in Slovakia?

There are two famous traditional dishes in Slovakia which are a success among tourists and locals - pirohy (potato cheese filling) and halusky (potato dumplings with sheep cheese and bacon). They will definitely make you hungry for more!

What is the currency in Slovakia?
